It is a four-stage solid propellant launch vehicle able to boost 1.5 tonnes to a 500 km sun synchronous orbit, or 2 tonnes to a 200 km x 40 deg orbit. It became China's most powerful solid propellant launcher with a successful inaugural launch on July 27, 2022 from Jiquan Satellite Launch Center. New Launch Pad 43/130 at Jiquan hosted the launch.
