Tianlong-3 is 71 m tall, has a diameter 3.8 m, and is fueled by kerosene and liquid oxygen. Stage 1 is powered by seven TH-12 engines developed for the rocket. Together they make 778 tonnes of lift-off thrust. Stage 2 is powered by a single TH-12V engine with a larger nozzle for vacuum operations. The vehicle is designed to put 14 tonnes into a 500 km sun synchronous orbit or 17 tonnes to a lower inclination LEO. Plans call for eventual first stage recovery and reuse. The first launch is planned for 2024. It will fly from the new Wencheng Commercial Pad 2.
